* The Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) expresses a material's ability to reflect solar energy. It is defined such that a standard black color (solar reflectance of 0.05, emissivity of 0.90) has a value of 0, while a standard white (reflectance of 0.80, emissivity of 0.90) has a value of 100. The higher the SRI value, the better suited the material is for cool surface applications. SRI values can even exceed 100. These values are calculated using Solar Reflectance (SR) and Infrared Emissivity (IE) as defined by the ASTM E1980 standard. "Calculation of Solar Reflectance Index of horizontal and low-sloped opaque surfaces". An equivalent EN standard was published in 2017: "EN 17190: Flexible sheets for waterproofing – Solar Reflectance Index".

Travaux effectués dans un premier temps sur le Drive de Saint-Jean-de-la-Ruelle, suivi en 2024 par l'application sur l'hypermarché de Fleury Les Aubrais et sur les trois autres Drive d'Orléans Nord.

Résultats : une réduction immédiate de la chaleur dans la partie mezzanine du bâtiment, des collaborateurs reconnaissants dans un meilleur environnement de travail, une diminution générale de la consommation d'énergie pour les chambres froides et, par conséquent, des économies financières importantes !

Le projet a concerné cinq restaurants et les résultats enregistrés ont totalement remplis les attentes.

Cette stratégie visait un double objectif : réduire les factures énergétiques et augmenter le bien-être des clients.

"20% d'économie d'énergie liée à une consommation de climatisation fortement réduite ; aucune panne observée sur toute la période chaude de 2023 alors que deux pannes par mois en moyenne étaient enregistrées auparavant", annonce Pierre Chevalier, fondateur et directeur du fournisseur RenovCoat.

Grâce au traitement thermo-réflectif de leur toiture, les différents bâtiments de hauteur variable et d'épaisseurs d'isolant variant entre 5 et 15 cm de polyuréthane ou de laine de roche ont enregistré environ 20% de baisse de consommation d'énergie. Le retour sur investissement est attendu sur 3 à 4 ans, en fonction des coûts de l'énergie. Des gains de 5 à 6° C ont été mesurés dans les bureaux sans climatisation alors que la chaleur mesurée dans les coursives recouvertes de bac acier était de 8° C inférieure après application.

Propriété du groupe Saint-Gobain, cette plateforme 100 % destinée aux professionnels du bâtiment offre tous les métiers sous le même toit, des solutions complètes et une sélection de produits pour les chantiers, notamment en rénovation énergétique.

L'intervention s'est inscrite dans l'optimisation énergétique globale du bâtiment.

Le bâtiment d'une hauteur de plus de 10 m, avec 50 mm d'isolant polyuréthane sous toiture, a enregistré après une année de données :

  • Un gain de EUR 100'000.00 sur la facture énergétique, soit environ 40 % de baisse de consommation
  • Un retour sur investissement de moins d'une année
  • Une clientèle qui exprimait une sensation de fraîcheur à l'intérieur du bâtiment alors que la climatisation était en panne (juillet 2025).
